Reviews
Here are just a few of the reviews we have received at the Inch over the past 12 months - you can read a lot more on tripadvisor and booking.com etc.
Your feedback is really important to us and we always encourage our guests to leave us a review. After all, we can only get better by hearing about the things we need to improve on...and of course the compliments are always nice to hear too!
"Staff really go the extra mile..."
"We stopped here for a night as part of our fortnight-long Highland tour and i have to say it was my favourite of all the places we stayed in. We arrived later than originally planned and were shown to our room which was clean and large with great views - ( in fact I think it was the honeymoon suite). We spent the evening holed-up in the hotel bar which was like one of those pubs you stumble across by accident sometimes, small and basically decorated but with a real local feel to it and impossible not to get chatting to everyone else in there. The staff were just amazing and drew us a little map to direct us to the nearby viewing point where we sat and watched the night sky over a starry loch - definitely one of the stand-out evenings of the whole trip. My only disappointment came in the morning when they didn't have any oatcakes at breakfast, but i can't complain because the chive scrambled eggs and salmon was so good!"

“A personal taste of Highland hospitality”
"I arrived still carrying all the stresses of London with me, only feeling them ebb away as I received the cheery, friendly welcome of my hosts and was given a drink in the lounge as they finished preparing my room. My room was clean and welcoming, with an incredible view...For three more days, I had the most wonderful relaxing break...When I came to log this review, I noticed a couple of bad ones and was really surprised. Admittedly, if you're after Conrad styling or an anonymous chain hotel, then this is not for you. It's not a vacuum-sealed, conveyor-belt stay, this is a real highland experience and one I hope to be repeating as soon as my diary permits!"

“Great Highland hospitality and food with lovely views”
"As an ex-Tourist Information Assistant in the Edinburgh and Scotland Tourist Information Centre in Edinburgh, I know what tourists look for in a hotel. This one's a cracker! Old, stuffed stags heads and antlers greet you at the front door as you walk towards the reception on red tartan carpet past a solid looking wooden staircase. This place reeks of atmosphere! The welcome is SO warm and friendly. Views from the front of the hotel are superb.
Make sure you ask the staff to point you in the direction of the fabulous view of Loch Ness which is a 10 minute walk up through a pine forest behind the hotel - as it's simply stunning!. As for the food: it's magnificent and you'll have plenty of wonderful tastes in your mouth enjoying it all as much as the fantastic names on the menu - "Hairy Coo Pie" being just one memorable example! All they need is a piper playing for 20 minutes each evening in the hotel's hallway and everything would be perfect"

“Full of character !!”
My Mum and Dad stayed in this hotel with another couple on 6th and 7th August, on the Sunday night 9 of us met up for a special meal for my Dads birthday. Firstly the food, absolutely fabulous, believe the reviews, food really is restaraunt quality and £30 a head for 3 courses with wine is more than reasonable for the quality of the food. My Mum and Dad assure me breakfast was also excellent, freshly cooked with lots of choice, special mention for the venison sausages
As for some reviews regarding fixtures and fittings, worn carpets etc, what a lot of nonsense; the sitting area with the roaring log fires is beautiful (and) I saw the rooms and they were more than adequate and very in keeping wth the building....if you want laminate floors and magnolia walls with pictures from a well known Swedish home store don't stay here, there are plenty of hotels in Inverness that will cater for your needs. (Though) why on earth anyone would want to visit such a wonderful area and stay in a sterile hotel that could be anywhere, is beyond me! ... The place is very homely, clean and tidy with a proper friendly Highland welcome. ...if you are looking for a good hotel with character and a very passionate owner then you could do a lot worse that have a night or two at the Inch."

“A welcome in the hillside”
"My wife and I stayed for 2 nights at the Inch Hotel as part of our holiday in Scotland - I'm so glad we did!
We were warmly welcomed by Marian and made to feel right "at home". We arrived earlier than anticipated and were served tea and biscuits in the drawing room where we were able to enjoy the great view across the glen and towards Loch Ness.
Our room was spacious and comfortable with an en-suite toilet/jacuzzi bath - and the view towards the loch was simply stunning. We enjoyed breakfast and evening meals during our stay - full english breakfast and a fine choice of delicious food in the evening - all served efficiently by the charming and lovely Christina!.
The hotel has a charm about it - if you're used to staying in 4/5 star hotels where the decor and furniture are matched with carefully thought out detail, then you need to put those thoughts out of your head when you stay at the Inch! Here, you need to think relaxed, comfortable and laid back. We were in room 10 on the first floor - we had a large comfortable double bed and a wardrobe which looked like something my grandma would've had - but it served the purpose for which it was intended! The bathroom however, was modern and well appointed - the only thing it lacked was a shelf to put our toiletries on - but that's a minor point.
The Inch proved to be a perfect base from which to explore the surrounding countryside - we made a point of driving all the way around Loch Ness as well as enjoying a boat trip on the loch upon the "Royal Scot" cruise boat - and we even saw Nessie :-)
For a warm welcome in the hillsides we can't recommend the Inch Hotel highly enough - go and try it for yourself - you won't be disappointed!

“Perfect, relaxed atmosphere, welcoming, great food”
I chose this hotel for my 60th birthday celebration wiht friends as I had been there a couple of years ago in November and had a wonderful stay. This time was even better, felt like we had been welcomed into a country home, nothing was too much trouble, they even provided a guitar which helped keep the singing in tune! The rooms are spacious, full of character and the newly refurbished bathrooms provide everything you need in a bathroom! The communal lounge has stunning views of the loch and a homely log fire which is welcoming even on a warm spring evening. The food was great, imaginative and freshly cooked. The only problem is the tendency to eat too much. We all thought the stay was exceptionally good value. There are (also) walks directly from the hotel so you can forget about your car and just enjoy the area. I am looking forward to an opportunity to go back

“A little piece of heaven in the Highlands”
"I chose this hotel on the the strength of previous reviews, and I was certainly was not disappointed. The hotel is a prime example of what can be achieved when you apply modern standards of service and comfort, but without losing the charm and heritage of the original building.
I had a gorgeous room overlooking the Loch, furnished with beautiful pieces of antique furniture, but with all the modern facilities you would expect, shower,tv,etc.
All the staff are extremely friendly, and you get more of a sense of staying with friends for the weekend. The food is excellent, and the dining room gives you an excellent view over the Loch, smoked Haddock and poached eggs for breakfast whilst waiting for a glimpse of Nessie is beyond price.
So if you want feel like the Monarch of the Glen for the weekend or just a night then this is the place to do it."

“The most friendly & homely hotel I've stayed in”
Staying at the Inch hotel was a totally new hotel experience for me who is used to staying in the clinical confines of the Holiday Inn!
The hotel is a beautiful building set in a stunning location, but the best thing about the place is the staff. They were exceptionally helpful and friendly and it felt like we were staying with friends.
Our room was very spacious & clean and had a great view overlooking Loch Ness.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking to get a true Scottish experience.
